Sally miller

Sally is a registered architect and Certified Passive House Designer with nearly 10 years of experience in the design, detailing and delivery of numerous projects seeking to bring elegant, affordable solutions to complex challenges. Passionate about addressing the climate crisis through zero emissions buildings and regenerative design, Sally is experienced with regenerative design principles, the Passive House standard, BC Energy Step Code, Embodied Carbon reduction and LEED certification. She is passionate about projects that seek to inspire curiosity and support ongoing education about our role in the holistic health of our planet’s ecosystems.

Sally holds a Master of Architecture from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from Carleton University. At a previous firm, Sally was Project Architect for a multipurpose park administration building incorporating rainwater harvesting and water conservation education features, and a mid-rise affordable housing development with enhanced accessible design strategies targeting Step 4 of the BC Energy Step Code.

 As an early adopter of zero emissions building standards, Sally regularly attends technical meetings, educational sessions and tours to advance her knowledge in delivering high performance projects. She is passionate about advancing the industry transition towards achieving more zero emissions buildings and serves as a part-time instructor at the BCIT Zero Emissions Buildings Learning Centre. Her lectures discuss strategies to achieve the upper levels of the Step Code with other architects and designers, contractors, developers, municipalities and building trades.

Calling Vancouver home for the last 10 years, Sally is grateful to the Musqueam/xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Squamish/Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and Tsleil-Waututh/Sel̓íl̓witulh, who allow her to live and work on their territories as an uninvited guest. Outside the office, you will find Sally cycling the city, beachcombing or growing veggies on her rooftop garden.
