Alena Pavan | Intern Architect

aLENA PAVAN

Alena is an Intern Architect at Urban Arts Architecture. Prior to receiving her Master of Architecture degree from the University of British Columbia, she completed her undergraduate studies in structural engineering at the University of Western Ontario. With a strong technical background, she values practical design solutions which accept the nuances of everyday life.

Alena believes that good design cannot happen without inclusivity and consideration of diverse voices. From the communities being designed for, to the multidisciplinary teams approaching each new problem, collaboration is critical when helping people create spaces which are meaningful and long-lasting. Having held past roles in the fields of building science and landscape architecture before joining Urban Arts, Alena has first-hand insights into the collaborative nature of design and takes pride in delivering projects motivated by the complex needs of people.

Off the clock, Alena can most often be found tinkering with something in her garden, or working through her perennially expanding watchlist of movies.

Alena thanks the Musqueam/xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Squamish/Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and Tsleil-Waututh/Sel̓íl̓witulh for allowing her to live on their territories as an uninvited guest.
