ABOUT

This project is based on the co-location of Urban Native Youth Association (UNYA), Native Education College (NEC) and Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT), to improve development and education outcomes for urban Indigenous youth and their families.

Working closely with the three organizations and their partners, UAA has developed a Functional Program that reflects the organizations' shared values and works to support a positive environment for integrated, accessible, community based supports and opportunities and better educational outcomes for Urban Indigenous youth and families.

The UIYES program is split across two existing sites in Vancouver and includes secondary, college and university education space and recreation and wellness space, housing, and child care facilities.
