JOE GERL

Joe joins UAA as an Architectural Designer. He received a diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in the Architectural Building Technology program.  His previous professional and educational experience is reinforced with 4 years in the construction industry. These three aspects help inform his approach to design.

Joe is keenly interested in linking the ideas of building science with the realities of construction to produce cost-effective, durable, and eco-conscious architectural solutions.  He is also passionate about how people experience the composition of space at a personal and tactile level. Joe is an advocate of architecture’s ability to deliver equitable and holistic solutions for both people and place. 

His other interests outside of work include camping, hiking, travel, cooking, and wood working.
