Hugo Ramirez Lagos

Hugo joins UAA as a Junior Intern Architect. He has developed a passion for creating experiences that empower users to take ownership of their environments. Hugo is a strong believer that the form of a building comes after a thorough understanding of what the users will see, think, and do in the space.

Hugo first started his career in architecture in 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Architectural Science degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and a Master of Architecture from the University of Calgary.

His interest in different cultures made him spend a semester in Europe, where he gained experience designing for German and Polish communities. During his studies at the University of Calgary, Hugo learned about the local Indigenous cultures by designing the master plan, landscape, and architecture for multiple First Nation community projects.

At UAA, Hugo aims to implement his cultural and technological knowledge to positively impact our local communities.
